Key West Beaches

Yup you are right! Key West is NOT known for its beaches.  It is known as the adult playground, as the place where people come to be happy, as the place where dreams come true, as the place that allows people without passports to experience the world… but hey… it still has beaches! Here are a few of them:

Smathers Beath

Located by the Key West Airport on South Roosevelt.  Beautiful white beach with shallow waters.  You will find water sport rentals here as well.

Higgs Beach

A small beach with volleyball nets, occasional live music in the evenings, and a great restaurant to grab a drink or something to eat.

Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park Beach

A small nominal fee allows you into this beautiful state park filled with history, park benches, charcoal grills, and plenty of shade if the day gets too hot for you!

South Beach

A smaller beach with white sand.  Great for photos and located next to the Southernmost Motel at the South end of Duval street.

Dog Beach

A perfect spot for your pup to jump in and cool off! Located next to Louie’s Backyard restaurant.
